Jesus is coming again!
There are many stories floating around about what that is going to look like and what’s going to happen when he comes. So let’s go straight to the source – Jesus himself! This is what he says through his angel.
He cometh with clouds
“Behold, he cometh with clouds and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.” Rev. 1:7
- Who’s coming with clouds? Jesus
- Where is he coming from? From Heaven to earth
- Who will see him? Everyone on the whole earth!
- Why is he coming? To take us to Heaven
- Who is he taking with him? Everyone who has believed in him and followed him
How do we know this?
Don’t just believe me. Look at these clues for yourselves!
For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Matthew 24:27
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions [dwelling places]; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:1-3
Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” Acts 1:9-11
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
Sounds exciting, doesn’t it? Then what’s with all the wailing?
I figure if there was lightening flashing across the whole sky, and loud trumpet blasts, and dead people coming to life and I didn’t know what was happening; I’d be wailing too! Especially if I realized I had turned away the one true God and Savior.
